In a story posted HERE , the entertainment industry publication VARIETY reports the following:

 

MyNetworkTV has confirmed the start date for "WWE Smackdown's" move to the netlet: Friday, Oct. 3.

 

To prepare, the programming service will broadcast a highlights special recapping this year's "WrestleMania" pay-per-view even on Thursday, Oct. 2 at 8 p.m.

 

Move to MyNet reps a return to the franchise's original title. Show has more recently been called "Friday Night Smackdown" on the CW. The CW, which inherited the "Smackdown" series from UPN, airs its final wrestling showcast on Sept. 26.

 

"WrestleMania" reps the first time the WWE has repackaged the annual event for broadcast network TV. "WrestleMania XXIV's" bouts included a face-off between Floyd Mayweather and Big Show.
