According to Borys Kit of THE HOLLYWOOD
REPORTER,
Melora Hardin, Mark Feuerstein and World Wrestling Entertainment star Paul "Big
Show" Wight will star in the comedy-adventure film "Knucklehead."
The WWE Studios feature centers on a fight promoter (Feuerstein) deeply in
debt to his crooked rival.
Desperate for a new fighter who will help him win
back everything he owes, the promoter catches a break when a 450-pound church
handyman (Wight) who has spent his entire life in an orphanage agrees to wrestle
on behalf of his fellow orphans. Hardin runs the orphanage with a nun (Wendie
Malick). The trio embark on a road trip to enter the fighter in a wrestling
competition.
Rebecca Creskoff (HBO's "Hung"), Dennis Farina and Saul Rubinek have booked
supporting roles. Lester Speight ("Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay")
and Bobb'e J. Thompson ("Role Models") round out the cast.
Michael Watkins is directing.
Hardin, who made her directorial debut this year with the indie feature
"You," is best known for her work on NBC's "The Office." She most recently
appeared on the big screen in "17 Again."
Feuerstein stars in USA's "Royal Pains," which has been picked up for a
second season. Wight recently wrapped shooting "MacGruber."
