Photos taken by Paul Heyman at Studio 54 in 1985 appeared in both THE NEW YORK TIMES and THE NEW YORK DAILY NEWS Sunday editions over the weekend.

Heyman, the ECW creative guru whose falling out with the McMahons over the "new" WWE-ized ECW has been well-documented, was a photographer as a teenager, both for professional wrestling magazines and also at the famous New York City nightspot Studio 54.

Heyman was the editor of Wrestling Power, Double Action Wrestling, and Wrestling News magazines when he became the official photographer at the age of 19 at Studio 54. He also served as a publicist, producer, and promoter, including an August, 1985 event in which he presented Ric Flair with the "Wrestling Press International Man of the Year" Award, which served as the drawing card for people to attend the event, which featured Bam Bam Bigelow's professional wrestling debut.

Heyman's pictures in the Times and News were of Shawn Kovell, a well-known "club kid" in the '80s who became the girlfriend of the tabloid-infamous "Preppy Murderer" Robert Chambers, whose 1986 Central Park killing of Jennifer Levin was national news. Kovell was seen in a home video, partying in her lingerie with Chambers and other children of privilege, when Chambers ripped the head off a doll and said "I think I killed it," which caused a huge sensation when it aired on Inside Edition.
