Christian defeated Jack Swagger to win the ECW
Title.
Captain Charisma and the All American American both untied turnbuckle pads.
The ref caught Swagger. As the ref tried to fix that turnbuckle, Christian
smashed Swagger into the other exposed turnbuckle, nailed the Killswitch
finisher, and scored the pin.
They had a moment backstage with Edge and
Christian which was pretty cool.
Chris Jericho defeated Ricky Steamboat with The Walls of
Jericho.
A good-to-excellent match. Steamboat worked very hard.
Kane pinned CM Punk.
If Punk cashes in Money In The Bank tonight, this is a smart move. If he
doesn't, could someone please explain it to me?
Jeff Hardy defeated Matt Hardy in an I Quit
Match.
Jeff tied Matt's wrists together and then tied him to a
table with rope. Jeff pulled a ladder from underneath the ring and set it up
inside the ring, took his shirt off and threw it to the crowd. Matt pleaded with
Jeff. "I'm sorry I killed your dog," Matt said as Jeff climbed the ladder.
The referee put the mic in front of Matt's mouth. "I'm sorry about everything,"
Matt screamed. "Jeff, our mother wouldn't want this. She's in heaven looking
down on us and she wouldn't want this. Our dad is at home sick and he wouldn't
want this." Matt continued to plead with Jeff, who was still standing at
the top of the ladder. Matt finally yelled that he quit. The audience
booed. But then Jeff jumped off the ladder and legdropped Matt through the
table and the crowd went nuts.
The Great Khali and Runjin Singh
Kiss Cam Segment.
This was long and embarrassing. Santino/Santino was just
horrible. They tried to get Jim Ross involved, obviously another Vince McMahon
practical joke on Ross. Runjin said Santina doesn't have to kiss Khali as long
as he proves his love by kissing Ross. JR said, "That ain't gonna happen,
I assure you." Cole referred to Ross as "Mr. Bar-B-Q Man." Ross shot back, "Mr.
Bar-B-Q Man? I wonder who fed you that line."
At this point, Beth Phoenix
came out with Rosa Mendes and said she wanted a match with Santina. She said
Santina isn't the real Miss WrestleMania. Beth tore into Khali by saying that
the women in Punjab are either all ugly or Khali is the biggest idiot alive
today. Khali chopped Beth horribly over the head while smiling. She wobbled
around the ring and then Khali pushed her down. Santina called for the bell. The
referee agreed. Santina covered Beth and pinned her. Santina celebrated.
Khali backed her into a corner and removed her bra. Santina covered her chest
and ran screamed while running backstage.
Randy Orton became the new
WWE Champion by virtue of his pinfall victory over HHH in the six-man tag team
match as Orton, Cody Rhodes, and Ted DiBiase defeated HHH, Batista, and Shane
McMahon.
Orton went for the RKO, but HHH blocked it. HHH went for the
Pedigree, but he spotted Batista about to use a chair, and
stopped him to avoid the disqualification, which would have cost HHH the title.
Orton hit the RKO on HHH for a really dramatic near fall. The timekeeper
accidentally rang the bell. Orton nailed the kick to the head for the pin and
the title.
Edge defeated John Cena in a Last Man Standing match to
win the World Heavyweight Title with the help of The Big Show.
A great brawl through the crowd, including an Attitude Adjustment into a
group of what much have been plants (inside of real paying fans) by Cena. Very
ECW-style fight, only with more precautions one would hope. Big Show came out at
the end and Cena took a bump into what was announced as a huge light and there
were explosions. It was a well done stunt. Fantastic match.
