MULTICHANNEL NEWS ran a story this morning on The Big Show vs Floyd Mayweather, which you can read in its entirety here: http://www.multichannel.com/article/CA6546131.html. The story states  The official rules for the Floyd Mayweather vs. Big Show match at WrestleMania 24 Sunday night have been announced -- and they don’t figure to be pleasant for the boxer.  Counters ‘Money’ Mayweather, whom many regard as the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world:  “Hey what I do for a living is take risks. This is my idea that anything goes. He cant beat me at my game, but I can beat him at his.” In this David vs. Goliath match, Mayweather will give away nearly 300 pounds against the 7- foot, 441 pound Big Show at WrestleMania 24, which airs live on pay-per-view March 30 from the Florida Citrus Bowl in Orlando. The rules indicate “there must be a winner and anything goes: The match can be won by pin, submission or knockout, according to WWE. “This guy made the mistake of entering my world in the first place. Now that I have agreed to these wide open rules, I may just break his back. This is my world, not his, said the Big Show in a statement..

Tim Baines wrote an excellent article on Adam "Edge" Copeland that ran in several Canadian newspapers and on several websites today. You can check out the entire story here: http://ottawasun.com/Sports/OtherSports/2008/03/30/5142591-sun.html. The story states It's so surreal. Adam Copeland sat in the 11th row at SkyDome in Toronto, watching Hulk Hogan vs. The Ultimate Warrior at Wrestlemania VI.  Eighteen Wrestlemanias later, the guy we've come to love and hate as Edge is looking at what he calls "the biggest match of my career."  A four-time world champion, the 34-year-old Canadian, who grew up in Orangeville, will face The Undertaker tonight. Standing across the ring from the menacing Undertaker is a daunting enough task on any night, but on the line is The Phenom's 15-0 streak. It's a heavily hyped record, one that has Edge almost giddy.  "This is the most excited I've been going into a Wrestlemania," said Edge. "This is the granddaddy of them all."  With a tremendous sense of humour, Edge is also able to slide into character: "All I've heard is The Undertaker is 15-0. People seem to also forget I'm undefeated at Wrestlemania. This is the year it all changes. After Wrestlemania, I'll walk into a room and people will say, "There is the man who put an end to The Undertaker's streak."  Through it all, out of character, he's a man of tremendous humility, a guy with intense pride in his Canadian roots. Through his stint as The Rated R Superstar, Edge has been a pompous, conniving low life, but through it all, for the most part, Canadian fans still cheer him loudly.  So, would he ever become a "good guy" again?  "I would have said last year that there was very little chance of that happening. But little by little, you see little pockets. The fine line is if you get too good at being bad, they start cheering you. The trick is you have to stay bad through it all.

HBK Shawn Michaels was interviewed by Brian Fritz for THE ORLANDO SENTINEL, which you can read here: http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/orl-wrestlingx2908mar29,0,5983394.column. Excellent story on HBK being nervous because he's wrestling his hero in Ric Flair. The story states One person who has stolen more than one WrestleMania is Shawn Michaels (Michael Hickenbottom). In fact, Michaels is Mr. WrestleMania, always rising to the highest level and putting on a performance that steals the show. "I always thought that I was going to be the guy who will steal the show," Michaels said. "That was the standard for me, and then it morphed into this."  That high standard began at WrestleMania 10 when Michaels and Razor Ramon (Scott Hall) had an unforgettable ladder match. WrestleMania 19 was highlighted by an incredible match where Michaels faced Jericho. Talk to Jericho now, and he calls it the favorite of his career. Michaels tore the house down at WrestleMania 21 in a brilliant masterpiece against Kurt Angle, which some people call the greatest match in Mania history. And the list goes on and on. That is why Michaels is "The Showstopper," a name that he has more than lived up to over the years. But it also comes with a heavy weight knowing that fans expect that type of performance year after year. "The thing is, when you say something and then do it, it becomes part of you and people always expect it," Michaels said. "After a while, it becomes hard. It becomes your challenge. Can you meet that challenge? Can you rise to the occasion? That's all I ever try to do."

On Sunday, Michaels will square off against Ric Flair (Richard Fliehr) in what may be the final match of The Nature Boy's incredible 35-year career. It's an honor for Michaels, considering that the 16-time world champion is who he idolized as a teenager and the reason why he decided to get into the business. "He made everything about the job look great, from being in the ring, partying -- it looked like the greatest job in the world," Michaels said. "If you weren't thrilled about watching him do what he did, you were crazy." Michaels and Flair won't be wrestling for a championship. Their match probably won't be the last one on the show. But talk to other wrestlers, and they'll say that this is the true main event of WrestleMania 24. Two icons clashing on the biggest show of the year. "I can't wait to see the match between Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair that could possibly be Flair's last match," said Chuck Palumbo, who will be part of the 24-man battle royal "dark match" before the show. "I don't want to see that, but I'm a huge fan of Shawn Michaels. That's the guy I watched when I was breaking in." It's sure to be an emotional match for them, as well as fans who have admired Flair over the years. And that, of course, includes Michaels. "What he's done for people in this industry is amazing," Michaels said. "I just want to do justice for my friend and what he deserves."
