KIMBO SLICE LOSES IN 14 SECONDS TO UNKNOWN SUBTITUTE SETH PETRUZELLI ON CBS NETWORK |

In a fight that many may call fixed and others will say exposed Kimbo Slice
as an MMA fraud, Ken Shamrock's substitute Seth Petruzelli defeated Kimbo via
ref stoppage just 14 seconds into the 1st round.
Ken Shamrock was unable to fight due to a cut over his left eye sustained
during a workout earlier in the day. There was huge chaos behind the scenes as
Kimbo didn't at first agree to fight anyone else, but settled on fighting
Petruzelli, whose nickname is "The Silverback." Petruzelli, who weighed in
at 205 1/2 pounds, was scheduled to fight light heavyweight Aaron Rosa, but
quickly accepted the shot at Slice.
"It was an opportunity to step up," Petruzelli said. "This is something I
wanted all my life."
Referee Troy Waugh stepped in and stopped the fight at 14 seconds in front
of the the sellout crowd
of 9.414 fans.
Slice was actually very sporting in defeat. "It's all good," he stated, "It
was unexpected, but it's all good."
As for what happened to Shamrock, Dr. Allan Fields of the Florida State
Athletic Commission stated "It appears that he was warming up as he
stated, rolling over and received a head butt, which resulted in a laceration
over his eye. He received six sutures in the eyebrow. He explained that he
wanted to fight; however, for his safety, we have rules. Anyone with a recent
laceration cannot go participate in a fight."
