THE UK SUN has posted a story by The Lilsboys on WWE Monday Night Raw's 2 year extension on USA Network with plenty of quotes from www.wrestlingnewsdesk.com editor Matthew Cooper, which you can read in its entirety at this link: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/wrestling/article562561.ece.

The story states the following:

As the WWE’s flagship programme Raw gets ready to celebrate its 15th anniversary on TV, the show’s run has been extended for another two years.

USA Network, who broadcast Raw in the States, have extended their relationship with the federation until at least 2010. The deal also includes two Saturday Night Main Event specials each year.

It is thought Sky Sports will continue showing both programmes in the UK.

Matthew Cooper, editor of wrestlingnewsdesk.com, said: “World Wrestling Entertainment received an increase over the $31million license fee it is already paid annually under the contract that was due to expire at the end of next year.

“This is a lucrative deal for both sides because NBCU (parent company of USA Network) sells the advertising on Raw, and WWE desperately needs to keep their weekly storylines playing out in front of the largest audience possible.”

He added: “WWE have a great ally in network boss Bonnie Hammer. When the history of Vince McMahon is written, she will be an important figure in the story of his success.”

This Monday sees McMahon bring many of the biggest stars in his company’s history back to celebrate Raw's 15th birthday.

Names confirmed for the show include Hulk Hogan, 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin, Mick Foley, Trish Stratus, Lita, Sunny, Eric Bischoff, Jim 'The Anvil' Neidhart and Mae Young.

Wrestlers from Smackdown and ECW will appear and Triple H, Ric Flair, Batista and Randy Orton are also set to reunite as Evolution for one night only.
