Good story, with reporter Michael Zuidema reporting
Paul Wight can't
juggle, and he can't do magic tricks. So when
the wrestler better known as "Big Show" makes his first visit to Grand Rapids
since his Wrestlemania XXIV loss to Floyd Mayweather on March 30, he'll stick to
his bread-and-butter. "I'll just hand out some
choke slams," Big Show said. "That's what I do."
A press release was sent out regarding Eric Bischoff and Jason Hervey's
newest project for VH-1, a as-of-yet untitled reality program.
Los Angeles, CA – May 8, 2008 – VH1 will bring eight of the
most famous male teen idols of the ‘80s and ‘90s together in a yet-to-be titled
project to examine what life is like after the shine fades from their (teen
idol) stars and what it will take to get their careers back on track in the
fickle world of entertainment. The series is scheduled to premiere in the
winter of ‘09. These pop cultural icons will live together where they will
examine their pasts as teen heartthrobs and in the process, become better
equipped to move forward as the men they are today. "The idea of gathering
the biggest heartthrobs of a generation under one roof to look at their fame is a fascinating opportunity,
especially considering the fact that our producers have actually lived and are
still living that journey, said Jeff Olde, Executive Vice President Production
and Programming, VH1. “This will be the most exclusive and unique support
group of men the world has ever seen and our hope is to give viewers an honest
and compelling look at fame and its impact as experienced from the
inside." With the guidance of a life coach/therapist and top
industry experts, the icons will be given all the tools and connections
necessary for a comeback. And after they have learned how much fame has
changed, and how much they’ve changed, they must make the decision of a
lifetime: quit the business forever and follow a different passion or stay and
chase after one more shot at fame. The still yet-to-be titled series
will be produced as a co-production between Bischoff Hervey Entertainment and 3
Ball Productions. The series was developed by Eric Bischoff,, Jason
Hervey, Scott Baio and Michael Swerdlick and will be Executive Produced by Eric
Bischoff, Jason Hervey, Scott Baio, Michael Swerdlick, JD Roth and Todd
Nelson. Jeff Olde, Jill Holmes and Noah Pollack oversee the
series for VH1.
