The Associated Press has picked up the story of TNA World Champion Kurt Angle's arrest, which has totally eclipsed any publicity TNA may have been hoping for tonight in the expansion of the company's SpikeTV program to 2 hours.

The AP reported Pro wrestler Kurt Angle was charged with drunken driving and careless driving when he drove home from a bar near his home in the Pittsburgh suburbs last week, police said.

Angle was charged Friday after a motorist called police in Moon Township about 2 p.m. to report a Cadillac Escalade was driving erratically, according to a police news release.

Police used the license number to determine the vehicle belonged to Angle and went to his home, where police said the wrestler acknowledged driving home from a bar.

Angle appeared to be intoxicated and failed a field sobriety test before refusing a blood test, police said.

Angle, 38, won a gold medal in the 1996 Summer Olympics before becoming a local television sportscaster and then a pro wrestler.

It was not immediately clear if Angle had an attorney. His home telephone number was unlisted.
