In one of the most ridiculous news items of the day, the long time pro
wrestling columnist for THE NEW YORK DAILY NEWS, who goes by
the name of THE SLAMMER has posted a story that WWE Hall of
Famer Nature Boy Ric Flair could be headed to TNA for a comeback.

A key excerpt:
Since his retirement from the ring, Flair has been sort of an
ambassador of goodwill for the WWE. There's wasn't any ill will between them,
but even an ambassador may want to start a new career.
In a statement, the WWE said, "We have mutually agreed to
contractually part ways. Ric has chosen to pursue opportunities outside the WWE.
And Flair talked about those opportunities: "This gives me the
freedom to explore new projects such as corporate speaking engagements, product
sponsorships, do autograph shows and possibly going into movies or television."
And who better to play the lead in "The Rix Flair Story?"
But he left out one other possibility: returning to the ring!
Flair still has friends in TNA so don't be too surprised if Ric
considers going back not as any ambassador of goodwill, but as "Nature Boy" and
putting on the tights and getting back into the ring.
While Flair may be open to a big money offer from TNA if they would let him
pursue all his other opportunities as well, it is still unknown if he really
would sign anything at this time. Would Flair risk his good relationship with
WWE and World Wrestling Entertainment Chairman Vince McMahon's son-in-law for
TNA? If Flair wanted to be under contract, he would have stayed in WWE.
Whether Flair ever does an appearance for TNA or not, it is highly unlikely
he will ever taint that tremendous retirement he got from
WWE and wrestle again,
at least outside of World Wrestling Entertainment.
