The Nevada State Athletic Commission has released the results of their drug screening for UFC 81: Breaking Point, which took place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas on February 2nd, and everyone tested passed the NSAC-administered screening.
As standard practice, the NSAC randomly chooses fighters for the screening, though all main-event and title match participants are usually tested. Fighters who failed previous tests are also more likely to be tested.
The heavily-hyped pay per view event featured Frank Mir's thrilling 90 second victory over former WWE Champion Brock Lesnar, and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira’s third-round submission victory over Tim Sylvia to win the UFC’s Interim Heavyweight Title.
All four fighters were tested for drugs of abuse, which means marijuana and cocaine, as well as anabolic steroids and other performance-enhancing substances.
Other UFC 81 competitors who were screened by the NSAC were Ricardo Almeida, Tim Boetsch, Marvin Eastman, Rob Emerson, Tyson Griffin, Jeremy Horn, Chris Lytle and Nate Marquardt.
