UFC Interim Champion Frank Mir, the only man with an MMA victory over current UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar, has some advice for the former WWE Champion going into this weekend's UFC 100 mega-event.

"If I were him, I would just come after me and take the chance," Mir stated, "because to sit there and play the cat-and-mouse game with me and jab and slip and move around, I think that's a slow death for him. I don't think he can possibly win."

Mir, who is the underdog despite his previous victory over the man wrestling impresario Paul Heyman nicknamed "The Next Big Thing" continued with his analysis, saying,  "If Brock wanted to stand with me, then yeah, I would stand toe-to-toe with him and swing because I feel like I have great head movement and he has no head movement. I can land great shots on him, I can put Brock on his butt if I catch him. So in a boxing match, I have no problems standing toe-to-toe with him. But if all of a sudden if he changes his levels, throws a punch and then shoots at me, then it's going to be difficult. That's why I don't want to stand in front of him, not so much because of his punches but because of his shots. That big frame shooting forward and his reach is so long, if he puts his hands behind my hamstrings and just sprints towards the cage, I am going to go down."

Mir continued, saying "But if I can throw three of four punches and then fly off at an angle, and throw another punch and he shoots and I am never where I'm at," the confident Mir concluded "that's going to be very difficult for him."

"I think that's what we're seeing in MMA, how much footwork is really prevailing in defence and offence. It is more important than slipping and ducking punches because footwork eliminates shots and also getting kicked in the head.

Mir boasted, "All the greatest fighters in the world right now, the one thing they all have is great footwork."
