There's a ton of discussion today regarding the controversial decision that
saw Forrest Griffin win the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship from Rampage
Jackson in a unanimous decision after 5 hard fought rounds.
Josh Gross of SPORTS ILLUSTRATED wrote a very interesting
article about the classic fight, which you can read
HERE .
Neil Springer of SLAM! Sports wrote a story entitled
DID RAMPAGE GET SCREWED? which you can read in its entirety
HERE .
Neil's take on the controversy, which I agree with, is It was a
super close fight and it really could have gone either way. Though I disagree
with the judges’ score cards, the rules are left so open to interpretation that
things like this are bound to happen. Regardless, a rematch needs to be signed
so we can find out who the better man is.
Michael David Smith of AOL FAN HOUSE stated I
agree with the fans who think Rampage won. But some of the fans I've heard from
-- the ones who think the judges should be fired for stealing the fight for
Griffin -- need to get over themselves. You can read his
entire story on the fight HERE .
