The biggest rumor in all of MMA right now is that Randy Couture will work out an agreement with UFC, and return to the promotion for a showdown at UFC 91 against Brock Lesnar.

 

We're hearing that Couture would be willing to return for one fight only, even though he has two left on his disputed contract. But now comes word that UFC is pushing for a 2 fight deal, which would essentially kill the Affliction: MMA promotion that Donald Trump has been hyping, because it takes away the possibility of Affliction promoting Couture vs Fedor Emelianenko.

 

Affliction would, overnight, go from being the home of the biggest non-UFC main event in MMA in Fedor vs Couture to just the home of Fedor beating everyone else up.

The rumors took on a life of their own when the name Brock Lesnar started being talked about in MMA circles as Couture's opponent, with all eyes on November 15th in Portland, Oregon. UFC was going for Lesnar vs Cheick Kongo, but this is easily the biggest MMA pay per view attraction this year.

 

Lesnar vs Couture has huge possibilities, but Lesnar could get caught by Couture, which would really hurt Lesnar's progression in UFC right now considering he doesn't put people away, which just leaves him open for any mistake Couture could capitalize on.
