LAS VEGAS – Fight fans will be in for a visual treat on Saturday
(Sunday in Manila) when Manny Pacquiao’s entourage enters the MGM Grand Garden
Arena on Saturday (Sunday in Manila) with wrestling superstar Dave Batista in
tow.
Batista, 6-foot-6 and nearly 300 lb, has agreed to carry one of
Pacquiao’s four championship belts during the pre-fight rites for his world
light welterweight title challenge against Britain’s Ricky Hattton.
A
Filipino-Greek, Batista is a four-time world heavyweight champion and a
three-time world tag team champ as well, two with Ric Flair and one with John
Cena.
Batista’s place in the Pacquiao entourage was relayed to Dr. Ed
de la Vega of Philboxing by Lee Samuels of Top Rank, which is co-promoting the
fight card with Golden Boy Promotions.
