TNA world champion Kurt Angle has DENIED a police report which accused him of drink driving.
The former WWE star and Olympic gold medallist was reported to Pittsburgh cops on Friday night after almost striking another car and a lamppost.
On arriving at his home, police say Angle admitted to driving from his local bar and failed a breath test. He was taken to a local hospital, placed under arrest and then released to face magistrates shortly.
You can read the police report by clicking here.
However the wrestler’s lawyer has struck back stating: “Kurt Angle maintains his innocence relative to the charges brought by the police in this matter.
“The improper arrest occurred in the middle of the afternoon after Mr Angle showed no signs of intoxication.
“The police have no blood alcohol content and not fisthand knowledge of his operation of his vehicle.
“We believe the motivation for this arrest is based upon Kurt Angle's celebrity status and we are confident that we will prevail when the truth becomes evident.”
Interestingly Kurt REFUSED to give a blood test when asked by cops.
More details of his alleged intoxication have also been revealed.
Police Chief Leo McCarthy said that Angle had "liquor on his breath" and "pills (anti-inflammatory medication) in his mouth” when officers were interviewing him.
At least one of Kurt’s colleagues doesn’t believe his denials.
A wrestling pal, speaking on the condition of anonymity told wrestlingnewsdesk.com: “This is a cause for major concern. What was he doing, getting drunk at two in the afternoon?
“And the mouth filled with anything but candy is something to worry about. And this happens on the week TNA expands to two hours?
“Would anyone else get away with this? It's the same thing he pulled in WWE.”
