Legendary Japanese pro wrestler Mitsuharu Misawa was declared dead at 10:10
p.m. Saturday night at a hospital in Hiroshima from what appears to be
a heart attack after taking a back suplex in the ring during a match.
Misawa would have turned 47 years old on June 18th.
Misawa, who was the President of Pro Wrestling NOAH, was teaming with Go
Shiozaki against GHC Tag Team Champions Bison Smith &
Akitoshi Saito. It was almost a half hour into the match when Saito gave
Misawa a back suplex, which knocked Misawa unconscious. His heart stopped in the
ring. He was administered CPR.
