The internet is abuzz today about TNA Wrestling negotiating with former WWE, IWGP, and NCAA Champion Brock Lesnar.

  • Wrestling News Desk has confirmed with two different sources within TNA that negotiations have taken place, and are ongoing, and the signing of Lesnar is considered "likely."

  • The reports that Kurt Angle has acted as the go-between are accurate. One TNA insider stated, "Kurt wanted this deal, and has been pushing both sides for it to happen."

  • MMA News Desk has spoken with several Mixed Martial Arts executives, and it appears Lesnar is in a difficult position in the MMA field at this time.

  • Lesnar's MMA debut at the Los Angeles Coliseum did not endear him to K-1 officials.

  • UFC is officially interested in Lesnar, but won't pay top dollar until he reaches the main events.

  • Lesnar wants top pay immediately, but UFC wants him to work his way up the ladder.

  • With the apparent or imminent collapse of BoDog Fighting, Lesnar has lost a lot of leverage.

  • While ProElite remains an option, reviews from fighters about dealing with Gary Shaw are quite poor.

  • Lesnar spoke with Shane McMahon earlier this year about returning to WWE for an appearance on Wrestlemania, looking for a big payday.

  • Shane apparently ran it by Vince, who rejected the idea.

  • Feeling shut out of WWE, Lesnar feels TNA is his only option to earn big money in wrestling right now, or even in wrestling or Mixed Martial Arts.

  • Lesnar would be a top star for TNA when the promotion officially moves to 2 hours on SpikeTV's Thursday night lineup this fall.

  • TNA has had a lot of problems with their booking, however, and many question why the move to 2 hours when the promotion can't sustain an audience for one hour.
