Bobby Lashley took Bob Sapp down, and proceeded with a ground and pound
attack that never stopped until the massive Sapp actually tapped out from
underneath in the main event of Ultimate Chaos.
The fight lasted 1:17. Sapp, it appears, never had a chance.
"To all the heavyweights out there, if you're not looking at me, you better, because I'm coming. I'll take on all challengers," Lashley, 32 years old (one year older than fellow former WWE superstar, and current UFC Champion Brock Lesnar) stated after the fight. Lashley, who was NAIA national champion in 1997, 1998 and 1999 at Missouri Valley College was known as "Donald Trump's Hand Picked Wrestler" in "The Battle of the Billionaires" with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. Lashley, who was ECW Champion and US Champion in WWE, will forever be compared to Lesnar, whose meteoric rise to success in WWE saw him defeat Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson for the Undisputed WWE Championship in 2002. Lesnar is also a former NCAA Heavyweight Champion from the University of Minnesota. Both men were recruited to WWE by World Wrestling Entertainment exec Gerald Brisco, and mentored behind the scenes by controversial Paul Heyman, who also performed as Lesnar's "agent" on television during Lesnar's rise in 2002. Both Lesnar and Lashley walked out of WWE with hard feelings and ventured into the world of Mixed Martial Arts.
