This became an issue last night when the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Houston Rockets. Why? Because this made the Lakers the top seed and thus put the Denver Nuggets at home for Game 4. The problem is that the Pepsi Center was already booked by World Wrestling Entertainment for its "Monday Night Raw" show.
As of now, CNBC has learned that the WWE and the Pepsi Center are at an impasse. The WWE has had the date and venue booked since Aug. 15, 2008. This didn't make WWE chairman Vince McMahon too pleased.
Said McMahon: “Even though the Denver Nuggets had a strong team this year and were projected to make the playoffs, obviously Nuggets and Pepsi Center owner Stan Kroenke did not have enough faith in his own team to hold the May 25th date for a potential playoff game." It should be interesting to see how this shakes out.
